3 Workouts You Never Thought You'd Try

Do you ever feel like you have reached a fitness plateau and need to switch things up, but you have no clue what to try next? That can be especially true in this time of pandemic redundancy. Well, don’t fret because I am here to share with you some of my personal favorite workouts that can be done anywhere and any time with little to no equipment. But first, let’s talk about this plateau. An exercise plateau typically occurs when we repeat the same exercises over a duration of time that includes similar routines and workout styles. One way to break the plateau is by trying new styles of workouts. That is exactly how I discovered these new and fun workouts to add to my routine while I travel for work or just when I need a change-up. Plus, if your gym isn't opened yet, you can find these and more great options online!

Jazzercise

Perhaps when you think of Jazzercise you think of leotards and leg warmers. While yes, the fitness franchise first hit the scene in 1969, the workouts have adapted to the change in times. From dance, strength, and resistance training, Jazzercise is a full-body exercise paired with upbeat music that makes you want to move (even if you are not the most coordinated). Truth be told, I was a bit skeptical myself until I tried this workout.

Barre

Ballet, yoga, and Pilates are all combined to form Barre workout. The yogi in me was so ready to try this workout until I was ten minutes in! Can I just say, "Holy thighs!" I confess Pilates and ballet have never been at the top of my exercise regimen. However, my body thanked me for the new challenge after this quick thirty-minute tone and sculpt workout.

HIIT Cardio Kickboxing

Sydney Cummings is among the top fitness YouTube stars out there. She offers a variety of cardio and strength training workouts, but one of my personal favorites is her HIIT Cardio Kickboxing workout. Combining kickboxing moves like the speed bag, uppercuts, and jabs, this workout is taken to the next level through a high-intensity interval training (HIIT) format. So if you have never tried kickboxing or HIIT, or both, then this workout is well worth your time!
