8 Small Changes To Turn Your Health Around!

Have you ever had to make a decision you were not totally sure about, but in the end, it all worked out beautifully? What about on the flipside? Have you ever made a decision that did not work out as you had hoped? Well that's life! Life is full of choices that require decisions to be made, and those decisions can either work out for you or not work out at all.

“Change is inevitable. Growth is Optional.”

So what would you say if I told you that a small change that you make TODAY could have long-lasting effects on your health long-term? It’s true! What you do for your overall health and wellbeing today can greatly impact the success (or lack thereof) that you see tomorrow and in the future. Personally, I think it is reasonable to assume that we all want to make the best changes in our life which can lead to lead big success in our overall health. So below I have a few suggestions to get you started….

Small Change: Drink more water.The Success: Decreases inflammation, improves metabolism, aids in weight loss, body temperature maintenance.Small change: Move more.The Success: Improves circulation, enhances heart health, increases strength and flexibility, reduces stress and anxiety.According to a publication on the Harvard Health Blog, studies show that “...regular aerobic exercise can reduce anxiety by making your brain’s 'fight or flight' system less reactive. When anxious people are exposed to physiological changes they fear, such as a rapid heartbeat, through regular aerobic exercise, they can develop a tolerance for such symptoms.” Small change: Put $1-20 a day away.The Success: Financial security, vacation allowance ($365-7300), increased self efficacy, ability to save.Small change: Get at least 8 hours of sleep at night.The success: Appetite management, enhances immune function, decreases likelihood of premature death, improves memory.

Small change: Hug a friend.The Success: Boosts the happy hormones, lowers the stress hormone, improves blood pressure, decreases stress and anxiety.Small decision: Eat more veggies.The change: Reduces risk of diabetes and obesity, protects against some cancers, lowers blood pressure, serves as a nutrient dense food choice.Small Change: Go outside.The Success: Improves mental health, provides vitamin D, decreases muscle tension, enhances immune system.Small Change: Get organized.The Success: Leads to healthier choices, boosts energy, improves sleep, reduces stress response.According to a research article published by the Association of Psychological Science, researchers found that individuals who worked in an orderly environment were two times more likely to choose an apple over a chocolate bar as a snack compared to those who worked in a disorganized space.
