Tips For Breast Health

According to the Cancer.Net Editorial Board, over 300,000 women in the U.S. will be diagnosed with some form of breast cancer in 2017 (along with an estimate of 2,470 men). If left untreated or unrecognized, breast cancer as a disease is treatable in most stages, but can be deadly. Symptoms of breast cancer can depend on factors such as size, type and location of the cancer and can often go unrecognized in premature and early stages. Some of the most common symptoms of early breast cancer are a lump in or near the breast, thickening on or near the armpit region, a sore or ulcer on the breast, or nipple tenderness. Typical symptoms of advanced breast cancer include pain around the mass, achy bones, trouble breathing, decrease in appetite and increased fatigue. As similar symptoms can be a result of other less serious health conditions such as a cyst, it is important to seek medical attention before self-treatment or diagnosis.
