With today’s constant need for sensory overload comes the need for healthy mindful practices such as meditation. The benefits of meditation has long spanned generations, faiths, cultures and religions. Some say that meditation provides an inward look at self thus providing purpose and direction in life. Others support that meditation is a way of achieving peace and calm among the chaos of modern living. Science supports all of this as you can read further here.No matter the reasons for taking time to meditate, taking the time is often the common thread that is the greatest obstacle. This is why it is critical to begin taking ownership of your habits so that you may begin to cultivate a meditation practice in which you may reap all of the benefits.

Here are some of the best times to fit in your meditation practice!

First thing in the morning.Try beginning your day with a short five to ten minute breathing meditation practice. Sit in the silence and stillness of the morning right before the chaos begins. Take time to focus on your intention and purpose for the day ahead.During your morning or afternoon commute. Let’s face it. Our commutes are the bane of our existence, yet necessary nonetheless. So why not use it to your advantage? Put your most tranquil CD in the CD player or stream you favorite guided meditation as you take fluid, intention breaths.During your mid-morning or mid-day slump. After taking on the stress of work and life, it is important to take a moment to refocus and re-energize. Take a break, plug in your earbuds and follow a guided breathing practice on your meditation app.

Walking meditation right after dinner. In case you didn’t know, there is such a thing as walking meditation. Walk out the door without your earbuds and go for at least a twenty minute walk where you allow your senses to tune into the world around you as you breathe in some fresh air.End of day bubble bath.Meditating or taking a bubble bath can be a great way to relax and unwind from the day. Combine the two together and you have got a win-win! Light some candles, dim the lights, listen to some relaxing tune and let your mind drift away from the thoughts of the day.Right before bedtime. You are likely in the mode of unwinding from the day if you are in bed so use that to your advantage! Find your most favorite relaxing sounds, lie flat on your bed, close your eyes and just breathe.

DON’T FORGET….Mediation can happen whenever you can.

If none of the above work, just do it when you have a moment or NEED a moment! Meditation in any capacity can support your overall health and wellbeing!Click HERE to learn more about the Wellview services available to you. We can’t wait to work with you!
