Sodas, cokes, pops. Whatever you call them...are you drinking them? Has the "shelter at home" made it harder or easier to avoid these fizzy refreshments? Most of us know that we shouldn't indulge in sodas, but here is why you should kick the habit once and for all!

Soda is loaded with health depleting sugars.

A 16-ounce bottle of soda contains about 16 teaspoons of sugar often disguised in the form of High-Fructose Corn Syrup(HFCS). After 20 to 30 minutes in the body, HFCS converts to fat which is then stored in the body. Within 30 to 50 minutes, the liver dumps excess sugar into the bloodstream while the caffeine in soda increases your blood pressure.

Drinking soda more than doubles your risk of Type II Diabetes.

Many Nutrition Scientists have linked HFCS to the Obesity Epidemic in America with significant evidence toward the increase in Type II Diabetes. Additionally, other refined sugars, including HFCS, have been said to lead to health concerns like metabolic syndrome, heart disease, high triglyceride, and even weight gain. More info.

Memory loss and brain fog can be caused by sodas.

Researchers have found that when compared to non-soda drinkers, those who drink soda regularly experience swelling of the hypothalamus, which is a symptom often found in Alzheimer's and Dementia patients. More info.

Sodas can damage your (awesomely flawless, nearly perfect, irreplaceable) DNA

Sodium Benzoate, a common ingredient in soda, has been shown to turn off parts of your DNA. This DNA manipulation may cause significant damage to your liver. More info.

Sodas can negatively impact your bone and teeth health.

Phosphoric acid found in sodas can impact your body’s ability to absorb calcium. This can lead to osteoporosis, cavities, enamel and teeth erosion and sensitivity to teeth.Still struggling to put down your favorite soda? Stay tuned to learn HOW you can finally kick the habit!
